Hunger Solutions New York Announces Inaugural Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Ambassador Cohort

Hunger Solutions New York is proud to announce the first cohort of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Ambassadors. These Ambassadors are champions and leaders who represent a variety of programs and modalities of care that serve healthy snacks and meals to kids through CACFP. The Ambassadors were selected through a competitive statewide application process and will assist with expanding access to and participation in CACFP through a variety of activities, including peer-to-peer mentorship, informing statewide outreach and resources, participating as guest speakers, and more.

We are honored to recognize the following individuals as CACFP Ambassadors:

  • Kelly Brady—Countryside Daycare
  • Jessica Dean— Home Childcare Provider
  • Sonia Drakes-Bancroft—North Bronx National Council of Negro Women Child Development Center
  • Yohaina Martinez—Little Feet Big Steps Daycare
  • Timothy Pascucci—A Child’s Place at Unity House
  • Anna Raheem—The Academy for Young Scholars
  • Elaine Reynolds—Schenectady City School District
  • Tracy Sullivan—Sandy Creek School District
  • Rachel Viens—Syracuse City School District

Participation in CACFP is open to eligible providers offering child care in centers and homes, as well as eligible afterschool programs operated by schools or other community organizations. CACFP reimburses providers with federal funding to serve healthy meals and snacks to kids in care. Hunger Solutions New York provides tools, resources, and one-on-one guidance to programs to increase participation in CACFP. To learn more about CACFP, visit ChildcareMealsNY.org.
