Hunger Solutions New York’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Andres Vives as Executive Director. Andres is a proven executive who brings a wealth of leadership experience and a passion for positive change. The Board has every confidence that Andres will bring increased growth and visibility to the organization and further advance the mission of alleviating hunger.
“The Board of Directors unanimously voted to name Andres Vives as the next Executive Director,” said Dr. Anne Rogan, President of Hunger Solutions New York’s Board of Directors. “Mr. Vives has the talents and skills to lead the organization. In addition to his experience within Hunger Solutions New York, Andres brings a commitment to the mission and goals of each of the programs we deliver. His vision for the organization serves the interests of all New Yorkers. We are thrilled to welcome Andres as Executive Director and look forward to an ongoing collegial and productive relationship with him.”
Andres assumes the Executive Director position with more than 11 years of experience in executive leadership, including 9 years as Hunger Solutions New York’s Associate Executive Director. In that role, he managed a significant organizational expansion, developed and implemented a strategic plan to increase organizational visibility, improved program design, and organized Hunger Solutions New York’s first statewide Anti-Hunger Conference. His expertise in non-profit management and capacity building combined with his dedication to the mission of fighting hunger make Andres the right leader to move Hunger Solutions New York forward to an even greater and more successful future.
While Hunger Solutions New York is reaching for exciting new heights, the organization remains grounded in its duty to be a caring and informed voice for hungry New Yorkers. We are deepening our work to maximize participation in federally funded nutrition assistance programs for all who are eligible. We’re strengthening our commitment to serve those in need, focusing our efforts on the most vulnerable and underserved, including children, seniors, and communities of color. We’re working harder than ever to educate and advocate for policies and legislation that contribute to ending hunger.

I will build on the successes of the past 36 years while creating new opportunities for collaboration, resource development, and outreach. I’m excited to be working with our staff, board, statewide and community partners, and others committed to ending hunger in New York State.”
Andres holds a Master’s of International Business Administration from Florida International University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and Marketing, from the University at Albany.
