Hunger Solutions New York is joining in nationwide efforts to promote the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) during this year’s National CACFP Week, March 12-18. Through a series of blog and social media posts, we will highlight resources and action steps to help potential program sponsors and community messengers learn more about CACFP, connect with local partners, and get involved in efforts to increase program participation.

This campaign is part of our ongoing efforts to maximize CACFP participation among potentially eligible childcare providers, afterschool programs and schools throughout the state, to increase children’s access to quality nutrition. CACFP provides reimbursement funding and nutrition training to help afterschool and early care providers serve healthy meals and snacks to the children and teenagers in their care.

To learn more about CACFP, visit our new webpage ChildCareMealsNY.org. If you are participating in CACFP Week, connect with us on Facebook and Twitter and post using the hashtags #CACFPWeek or #AccessForEveryChild to let us know how you’re getting involved.
