About 450,000 New Yorkers participate in WIC, but that’s only about 66% of those who are potentially eligible.

Your responses will help us improve outreach to increase WIC enrollment. This 5-10 minute survey will help us understand:

  • How partner organizations refer families to WIC
  • How we can grow outreach partnerships to reach more eligible families

It’s OK if you don’t know the answer to a question! Please answer honestly so outreach successes can be replicated and barriers can be addressed. At the end of the survey, you can opt into a raffle for a $50 gift card.

Background

In 2021, Hunger Solutions New York launched a five-year targeted outreach campaign to increase participation in New York’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). In the last few years, and with help from many partners, there has been a promising increase in WIC enrollment. Currently, about 450,000 New Yorkers participate, but that is still only about 66% of those who are potentially eligible. One of the project goals is to increase communication and referral coordination between WIC and programs serving the potential WIC-eligible population.
