As Congress considers making drastic cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), it’s more important than ever to dispel myths about the program and shed more light on the families SNAP serves.
At a time when many Americans are struggling to make ends meet, SNAP, or food stamps, is designed to make sure that they can keep food on the table even when times are tough. Of the millions who receive the help of these benefits, more than one-quarter are people with disabilities.
