CACFP Prescreening Tool for Afterschool and Early Care Providers

A new resource from the New York State Department of Health was created to help afterschool and early care providers determine if they may be eligible to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). CACFP provides reimbursement funding for nutritious meals and snacks served to children and teens in eligible afterschool programs and home-based or center-based childcare. The prescreening tool walks users through several aspects of CACFP eligibility with questions about location, programming, and other qualifications.

Hunger Solutions New York can help providers who do not have all of the information necessary to determine eligibility through the prescreening tool. We can help clarify requirements for different types of care settings, provide school meals data to determine if a program is located in an eligible area, and more. Contact Misha Marvel, Child Nutrition Programs Specialist, or Krista Hesdorfer, CACFP Associate, for assistance.

Access the prescreening tool using the link below, and visit ChildCareMealsNY.org to learn more about CACFP.
