Outreach Campaign 2011-2012

Stay Healthy with Food Stamp Benefits!

We all need good nutrition for good health. Older adults in particular need a healthy diet to prevent sickness, manage chronic diseases, or heal after an injury. Some may need a little extra help to buy food.

Approximatey one million older New Yorkers are income eligible for federal food stamp benefits, but less than half get them. We invite you to join our efforts to raise awareness of the nutrition benefits of the Food Stamp Program. Research has shown that for every dollar invested in nutrition screening and intervention, including public nutrition assistance programs, $3.25 is saved in health care costs.

You are invited to use these templates, or edit them for your needs. For help with modifying any of the PDF resources, please call 1-800-865-5542 x120 or email Misha.Marvel@HungerSolutionsNY.org.
