Child Nutrition Reauthorization:

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010

President Obama signed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 on December 13, 2010. Along with partners across NYS and the nation, Hunger Solutions New York advocated for improvements to child nutrition programs particularly in regard to increased program access, enhanced nutritional quality, and simplified program administration.

The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization (CNR) provides an opportunity to make significant improvements to school meals, summer meals, meals served at after-school programs and day care, and WIC. Reauthorization occurs once every five years.
